HOW TO GIVE OUT BUSINESS CARDS

Who to speak to? Waitresses, cashiers, salesmen, friends, co-workers, neighbors, people standing in line in front of you, behind you, people waiting in a lobby, people you walk past, etc. ANYONE.

What do you say? "Excuse me. May I give you my business card? If you know of anyone that needs a great dental plan, would you give them my card?" If they say NOTHING, say"By the way, which dental plan do you have?"

If they ask you QUESTIONS, it is because they are interested. Either answer their questions, or tell them you have an appointment and have to run, but you'd love to have their name and phone number and you'll call them in a few days with details.

IF YOU FAIL to get their name and phone number (minimum) you will not be very effective with your business cards.If you do take their name and phone number, ask for (or write down) this information on the BACK OF A BUSINESS CARD: Name, phone number, best time to call, where you met them, ask them if they have EMAIL (more people have it than you think).

CREATE a system of organizing your business cards. I use a 3x5 card box, with little folders number 1-31 and Jan - Dec. I put the card in the number of the day I am going to call them back. Then I check the card box every day for my calls to make.

If you are in an area (or have a broker in an area) with NO local dentists, then please change your opening line to either of the following:

1."Excuse me - May I give you my business card? If you know of anyone who is spending a lot of money on prescription drugs, would you give them my card?"

2. "Excuse me - May I give you my business card? I see you wear glasses, if you or anyone you know would like to save on ALL their eyewear needs every year (the way we're suppose to), would you give them my card?"
